The allegations surrounding Henry Zimon's credentials were raised at the time he was hired in February, when faculty members attempted to track his book with Praeger. The following is a chronological development of the controversy since May 1999, when one faculty member Achal Mehra began corresponding with Col Zimon.
Letter of May 4 to Zimon
Dr Henry Zimon:
We had corresponded in February on some areas of concern to me regarding your appointment as Albright President.
You had indicated at the time that you welcome the openness and expressed your willingness to address specific areas of concern. I had subsequently emailed you a question on your candidacy at Seton Hall. Regretably, I did not receive a reply.
The college faculty had also been assured earlier both by you and the college administration that we would get an opportunity to seek responses from you on your subsequent visits to the college. Regretably, we have not had such an opportunity either.
In the menawhile, I have been undertaking researches on my own which have given rise to some questions that I would like to get your response to. I am most anxious to hear your side in many of these areas and I am writing now to request an opportunity to discuss these issues with you by telephone at the earliest. Can you please email me with a time and date that is suitable to you and I will plan to call you at an opportune time for you.
I wish to be both thorough and accurate and you can help me clarify many areas. I would like to give you an opportunity to respond to my concerns. May I request you to please let me know at the earliest a suitable time to discuss these matters with you on the telephone.
