Thank you for your reply. I am sorry that somehow I didn't get your earlier e-mail regarding Seton Hall.
I understand and am sensitive to the pressures on your time presently, so I will try to keep my inquiries to the minimum and I will also fully understand if your answers are brief.
1. My question regarding Seton Hall goes to the position to which you were a candidate. I do not for a moment doubt the sincerity of your commitment to Albright. The understanding of some members of the committee was that you were a candidate for President at Seton Hall. You were in fact a candidate for dean and I am trying to understand how some committee members developed that misunderstanding as well as the understanding that you were candidate for the presidency at other institutions.

You had indicated in your discussion with the faculty in February that part of your financial responsibility at the army was that you had signature authority for checks and that your's was in fact the only signature required on these checks. Indeed, you had mentioned that you had just recently signed a check for $400 million+ and it was a scary feeling to be putting so many zeroes on a check. You might even recall that I had ribbed you about signing a check for Albright in that amount. Am I correct in my recollection of these facts? Can you please clarify the nature of your authority if my recollection is incorrect on the subject?

It has been represented to us in various ways, including in your resume, that you had authored and contributed to several treaties and US security plans, such as the National Security Strategy of Engagement and Enlargement. I am seeking clarity on the nature of your contribution to these documents. Were you author or coauthor of any document, section or any other aspect of the treaty?
